LeBron James has been an astute Twitter user during these NBA playoffs.
James’ Lakers did not qualify for the playoffs, which allows him to tweet out takes during NBA playoff games. On Tuesday, he tweeted about Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies.

GAME 2:Ja Morant’s 47 points carries Memphis Grizzlies past Warriors in Game 2 of Western Conference semis
James said Tuesday during Game 2 between the Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors that Morant is “a flat out (star emoji)” and indicated that his stardom dating back to his first two NBA seasons should have excluded him from the Most Improved Player award that he won this year.
“JA so damn tough!!!!” James said on Twitter. “There’s no way Ja should even have been in MIP talks. This guy is a flat out (star emoji) and always have been!! Real basketball (brain emoji) know. Not the majority of dweebs who don’t even watch basketball on those voting ballots.”
Morant received the Most Improved Player award on April 25 but left it at the house of teammate Desmond Bane, who also had a big jump from last season (9.2 points per game to 18.2 from last season to this one). So one can surmise that Morant both agrees with James and thought Bane deserved the award.

James tweeted again as Morant helped bring home a Game 2 win over the Warriors with 47 points.
“Like a said JA too special to be in a MIP conversation,” James said on Twitter. “Rising Super (star emoji).”
