Film exploring future of the planet to be shown in Lichfield

A film exploring the future of the planet will be shown at a screening event in Lichfield.


The Transition Lichfield group is hosting 2040 at The Hub at St Mary’s on 19th May.

A spokesperson said:

“Motivated by his four-year-old daughter and concern for the planet she will inherit, director Damon Gameau embarks on a global journey to meet innovators and changemakers to discover what the future of the planet could look like by the year 2040 if we embraced The best solutions are already available to us, and shifted them rapidly into the mainstream.

“Guided by the voices of 100 children interviewees aged between six and 11 who describe the kind of world they would like to see by the year 2040, Damon draws on the best minds from around the world to focus on climate, economics, technology, civil Society, education, agriculture and sustainability to conjure a positive portrait of what ‘could be’ instead of the current dystopian future we are so often presented.

“The film screening will be followed by a 30 minute discussion led by Transition Lichfield which will focus on themes raised by the movie.”

Tickets for the 7.15pm screening can be booked online.
