Columbus police investigating fatal shooting on Northeast Side near now-closed Rooster’s

SWAT units cleared out Sunset Palace Banquet Hall on Sunday following a fatal shooting. Officers were at the parking lot of the Columbus Square Shopping Center in the 5700 block of Cleveland Avenue.

Columbus police are investigating a fatal shooting Sunday morning on the Northeast Side.

Officers were at the parking lot of the Columbus Square Shopping Center to Sunset Palace Banquet Hall in the 5700 block of Cleveland Avenue. The call came in just before 5 am

A detective on the scene confirmed that one man was killed. No other information was immediately available about the victim or the circumstances of the shooting, which took place across the street from a now-closed Rooster’s restaurant that was the site of two shootings, one fatal, this year.
