Late Tuesday night, the NBA announced that 283 players, 247 from colleges, have filed paperwork to be early entry candidates for the 2022 NBA Draft in June.
There are only 58 picks in this year’s draft, so obviously the market is overly saturated despite being a smaller number than in recent years.
So, you can expect a significant percentage of the group to return to college by withdrawing before the NCAA’s June 1st deadline (the NBA deadline to withdraw from the draft is, ironically, almost two weeks later on June 13th).
Last year, players like Ohio State’s EJ Liddell, Wisconsin’s Johnny DavisLSU’s Tari EasonKansas Ochai Agbajiand, of course, Purdue’s Jaden Ivey all helped their draft stock by returning to college another year.
